About Me
👋🏼 I’m Rachel Sleeper, PCLC.
As a recovering anxious people pleaser + conflict avoider, I help my clients find the confidence to face disagreements graciously, set boundaries kindly, and finally learn how to have mutual, adult relationships.
I became a therapist to be the therapist I needed when I was younger. As a type-A, people pleasing, eldest daughter, I had learned to read rooms, keep the peace by any means possible, and never be seen as a villain. I believed that if I could keep everyone else happy, I could be happy too.
That did not pan out for me, and I bet you’re in a similar boat. I had to learn to separate my emotions from the reactions of others, and how to tolerate uncertainty and discomfort in relationships. I had two therapists in particular who gave me the tools to find my voice and listen to my needs, and how to communicate my limits without feeling like a burden or a villain.
My Specialities
I am a licensed counselor with more than 10 years of experience in the helping profession.
If you’re looking for a vibe check, I am a cheerleader at heart. I am honest and direct, but I never give feedback without also giving encouragement. I wear comfy clothes and athleisure to sessions - especially because I do walk and talk sessions when the weather is nice - but don’t misunderstand my casual sense of fashion to be a lack of care. I fiercely care about my clients and will tell you when I thought of you in between sessions.

When I’m not in my office, I’m an avid reader and writer (my current favorites are All the Light We Cannot See, anything by Morgan Housel, and A Court of Mist and Fury), auntie, baker, and runner. In the summer, you can bet good money I’m on a hike in Glacier, and I ski all winter long. While I can’t have pets because of my husband’s allergies, I will always ask to see photos of yours!
My coffee order is a hot latte, plain, with cinnamon on top. I eat pizza like my life depends on it (Jersey Boys in Whitefish is my favorite), and I’ve been known to stay up way too late reading, way too often. If you ever want to distract me in session, just ask about my bookish hot takes.
